Check out the impact update from three great nonprofits:
Come Sail Away!
Cynthia Clegg, Sue Sawchuk and Ray Hayes
Pay4ward put CFMC logo on their sails to take Veterans out on the water
Pay4ward is ready to enjoy some beautiful weather out on the water!
The nonprofit brings combat veterans sailing to help cope with P.T.S.D. Because the sails were old and in disrepair, they needed to be replaced. Pay4ward was awarded a competitive grant from CFMC to replace the 42 year old sail – and the end result is in the picture on the right!
The Community Foundation wants to extend a special thanks to Pay4ward for putting our logo on the sail!
A Place Called Hope
New roofing above an aviary at A Place Called Hope
A Place Called Hope rescues and rehabilitates wild birds native to Connecticut. The nonprofit needed support to finish two aviary roofs. The roofs are designed to protect the birds from the cold weather and snow in winter, but can be removed in warmer seasons.
Valley Shore YMCA
Swimming Creates Smiles
“Fit Kids Learn To Swim” at the Valley Shore YMCA
Take a look at these kids smiling – they just completed the Fit Kids Learn to Swim Program at the Valley Shore YMCA.
CFMC awarded Valley Shore YMCA a grant to fund the program for sixty first graders at Daisy Ingraham School in Westbrook.
The Fit Kids Learn to Swim Program teaches students basic swim skills, water safety, how swimming can be incorporated in everyday activities and how to live a healthy lifestyle.
