THANK YOU…it’s a simple phrase that says so much. Thanks to you, we at the Community Foundation of Middlesex Country are able to make even the smallest gift have a big impact – through charitable funds that support education, the arts, animal welfare, the environment, human services, heritage enhancements, and so much more. We say THANK YOU to you, our friends and neighbors, for your generosity of time, talent, and resources to support a passion or area of interest that improves the quality of life for all.
THANK YOU for the opportunity to connect you to the community in which you live, work, and play and to those who make a difference … such as the dedicated members of FISH who offer rides to seniors and homebound patients in the Chester- Deep River-Essex area. This all volunteer organization relies on the good will and community commitment of over 50 individuals to take seniors to and from medical appointments. Each volunteer drives two to four days a month – and in the first ten months of 2018, they have provided more than 800 rides totaling more than 22,000 miles. THANK YOU!
THANK YOU for working with others who share the same desire to help our local area thrive… such as those who organize the HK Backpack program, which provides backpacks filled with food and snacks for children in need in the Haddam-Killingworth area. These community-minded women and men are determined that no child in their town will go hungry. They joyfully fill backpacks each week with nonperishable breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack foods and deliver the backpacks every Thursday to participating schools where students are able to collect them. THANK YOU!
THANK YOU, too,for working with the Community Foundation to provide services, programs, and grants to our local nonprofits. Because of you and your support, the CFMC Nonprofit Resource Center was established to provide access to training, professional development resources, and consultations with local professionals and our knowledgeable staff. Services include workshops, seminars and in-depth courses on nonprofit management; webinar series with some of today’s leading fundraising professionals; listening forums and round-table discussions to identify and assess the issues within our community; access to funding and grant research databases; and individual consultations on specific topics and focus areas.
THANK YOU for volunteering at our schools, libraries and other nonprofits; for visiting local museums and parks; for giving food to a community pantry; for making a donation to an organization; for supporting youth service bureaus and bullying prevention programs; for getting involved with your town’s historical society; and for lending a hand at a community garden, an arts and education organization, or a senior center.
THANK YOU for all that you do, and for 21 years of helping good people do great things in Middlesex County. We are grateful for the opportunity to work in partnership for a better today and a better tomorrow. We invite you to share your passion and connect to a cause that matters to you.
