Celebrating The Power of Women Helping Women

Funds, News, Recent News

Oh What a Night!

Thank you to everyone who joined CFMC’s Sari A. Rosenbaum Fund for Women & Girls to celebrate the power of Women Helping Women! Friends and neighbors gathered at the Essex Yacht Club for an evening of inspiration, network, and great discussions.

Dr. Kristen Zarfos discussed the importance of taking care of ourselves, focusing the top five (5) aspects or things we often don’t give ourselves: sleep, water, exercise, social interaction, and spiritual/personal focus. She reminded all of us that to take care of our families,

friends, and community, we must first take care of ourselves!

During our celebration of women helping women, the Community Foundation honored two important organizations with the CFMC “Round of Applause” recognition awards. Alison Brinkmann of Simply Sharing was recognized for her commitment to ensuring individuals and families transitioning to permanent housing have a safe, furnished place to live and call home. Lorrie Milton and Stacia Libby were presented with recognition awards for their work in establishing She’s Speaking. This is a new organization providing opportunities for young women to participate in mentoring programs.

The CFMC Sari A. Rosenbaum Fund for Women & Girls also presented Round of Applause recognition certificates to Kristen Zarfos for all she does to support women and girls and to Chris Hall for her incredible volunteer efforts on behalf of CFMC.

We offer our deepest gratitude to Connecticut-based Juvea for their donation of two of their all-natural pillows which went to two lucky attendees.

Take a look at all the fun … and stay in touch! There’s more to come!
