Celebrating All Things Killingworth!

Happy Anniversary, Killingworth Community Fund (KCF)!

The Killingworth Community Fund (KCF) builds and supports the community – one grant at a time – in partnership with the Community Foundation of Middlesex County (CFMC).

In two short years KCF has supported many local nonprofits through grants. Here are just a few:

  • The purchase of a maple syrup filtering and bottling machine for the sugarhouse and general support at Parmelee Farm (yum!);
  • The Memorial Day Poetry Awards given to the top three poetry submissions celebrating Memorial Day at Haddam Killingworth Middle School;
  • Support for our young people at Youth & Family Services of Haddam-Killingworth;
  • Making space at the Killingworth Library by helping to reconfigure the display area in the main foyer;
  • New, high quality, sturdy backpacks ensure children in Killingworth, Haddam, and Higganum have food every weekend thanks to a grant to HK Backpack Program;
  • And so much more…

We extend three cheers to the dedicated Killingworth Community Fund Committee members who work quietly – but effectively – to help “Build Community One Grant at a Time.” KCF members (Joan Gay, Ed and Mary Anne Lisk, Cathy Iino, Mary Meixell, and Wally Jones) recognize the many contributions of the nonprofit organizations serving Killingworth, and tip their hats to the amazing staff and volunteers at these institutions,

To celebrate “All Things Killingworth” and to do even more in the community, KCF is hosting a gathering on August 25th at the Barrel House. Let’s have some fun and raise some funds to invest right in our own backyard to support our nonprofit organizations. Join us at The Barrel House on Sunday, August 25, 2019 from 4-7 p.m. For tickets please contact the Community Foundation at 860-347-0025 or visit our website Events Calendar at www.MiddlesexCountyCF.org for the “All Things Killingworth” event page and to purchase tickets online.

Let’s have a round of applause for everyone who is dedicated to building and preserving the wonderful community where we live, work, and play. Let’s do even more, TOGETHER.
