From Middletown to Ukraine

To all who cared and helped, Дякуємо (Thank you)!

Our community asked; You delivered! More than 7 tons in firefighting equipment and medical supplies were donated on April 9 and April 10 at the South Fire District.

And it’s arrived! Lviv volunteers excitedly began unpacking the equipment and supplies, ready to distribute them and put them to work to support their community.

Businesses, fire fighters, EMTs, and friends and neighbors came together to help Ukraine emergency personnel with much needed items and equipment … and an outpouring of fellowship and love.

We extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to the many people, businesses, and organizations who donated items, to the incredible partners and sponsors who helped make it happen (from signs, banners, and boxes to packing the shipping container, transporting it to New Jersey and then over the ocean to get to Ukraine).

A highlight of the equipment drive was Dr. Marika Kuzma singing the Ukrainian National Anthem (be sure to click on the photo slideshow link above to hear her tribute to Ukraine!)

We thank the many news and media outlets in our region for highlighting this incredible community effort – you can see the coverage at the various links below

Haddam Killingworth Middle School joined in the effort, hosting an auxiliary site for local donations that were then delivered to the South Fire District drive. The students also created thank you cards for everyone involved and shared their thoughts, hopes, and wishes for the people of Ukraine. https://hk-now.com/hkms-supporting-ukrainian-firefighters-equipment-drive-with-dropoff-location/
