Our friends Sharon Griffin and Jessica Griffin Scheff of Peach Pit Foundation are longtime members of the Leadership Circle at the Community Foundation of Middlesex County, a group of donors committed to the work of CFMC in the community and who contribute annually to support CFMC’s operations.
2022 is a very special year – CFMC’s 25th anniversary. Sharon and Jessica decided to do something a little “extra special” to celebrate CFMC’s 25th anniversary and their fellow CFMC Leadership Circle Members. We held a virtual call with seventeen public libraries in Middlesex County in December 2021. Sharon and Jessica surprised us all with an announcement of a $2,500 grant through CFMC to each of the libraries. The grants are unrestricted – the only requirement is to share some kindness with the communities the libraries serve and do something fun with the award.
The libraries began brainstorming, and with creativity and kindness at the center of all they do, they were quick to come up with amazing ideas and projects to engage their communities. From an Agriculture Day, including an appearance by a nationally known children’s author, creative educational activities, a travelling “Little Free Kindness Library”, and so much more – kindness abounds and the impact is rippling throughout Middlesex County.
The libraries have been sharing their gratitude and keeping us updated on the fun they’ve been having, thanks to Peach Pit Foundation! Take a look at the gallery below and check back often as we update it with more displays of kindness and fun at our libraries.
