We are thrilled to welcome Abby Coats to the Community Foundation of Middlesex County!

Abby has joined our team as the Senior Coordinator of Philanthropy and Community Outreach.

Abby is a Chester, Connecticut native. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Connecticut and her Masters in Intercultural Human Rights Law from St. Thomas University. Abby has been in nonprofit fundraising for 12 years and most recently was the Manager of Annual and Planned Giving at the US Coast Guard Academy Alumni Association.

Abby and her husband Michael and their son Callen currently reside in Norwich. She is a lover of the arts, spending time on the water, and creating tasty treats in the kitchen.

“Having grown up in Middlesex County, the opportunity to return and be a part of making an impact is what drew me to CFMC. There are so many incredible people, friends, and nonprofits from my own childhood that are doing great things through CFMC, such as the Chris Belfoure Memorial Fund (honoring the legacy of my classmate) and the Tri-Town Youth Services Fund (I’m a former member of TTYSB’s youth advisory council). It all feels like I’ve come home. I’m looking forward to getting to know the wonderful people and businesses working together through CFMC to support the nonprofit organizations that are the lifeline of our community.”
