In Appreciation of Volunteers

Volunteers do so much for so many and are the life blood of Middlesex County’s nonprofit and service organizations. The extraordinary commitment they display toward various causes and programs is inspiring and their enthusiasm for helping others spreads throughout our region as they share their time and talent.

The NEWBERG FAMILY FUND has been established by Esther Newberg to “Encourage Volunteerism at Middlesex Hospital in honor of Marion, Maurice and Ivon Newberg”. The Fund was started to highlight the extraordinary work of her mother, Marion, and her longtime dedication to the hospital. It is Esther’s hope that Marion’s countless volunteer hours and wonderful work at the hospital will inspire others to give back…and gain untold rewards in doing so.

“Volunteers are a vital component of what we do and are critical to the hospital’s infrastructure”, stated Vin Capece, President and CEO of Middlesex Health System. “This Fund will help us support volunteerism and the many programs currently in place. It will also assist us in expanding our efforts to recruit and retain this valuable piece of our organization.”

“Volunteers are so important and an incredible asset to the hospital. The fact that this Fund even exists is, in and of itself, a credit to their selfless efforts on behalf of others,” said Kate Kearns. “We are grateful to Esther Newberg and the entire Newberg Family for their generosity.”
