JB Parke Memorial Funds

Lindsay and John Parke established the JB Parke Memorial Funds in memory of their son John Brinton “JB” Parke, who passed away in December 2021 at the age of 33 after a year-long battle with a rare, aggressive form of kidney cancer.

JB was a 2006 graduate of Coginchaug High School and attended Region 13 schools during all of his primary and secondary school years – truly a committed student and member of the Region 13 family. JB loved his sports, both playing and as a spectator. He exhibited all the great sportsmanship qualities in every sport he played – baseball, basketball, and golf. While there is no doubt he was a fierce competitor and challenged himself to always do better, he was also a humble leader in all he did. JB was known for generously complimenting, encouraging, and supporting others on the field, on the golf course, and in his life. He put those he loved at the forefront and never hesitated to help others.

JB’s spirit and memory will be kept strong through family and friends and the many kind acts of all who knew him. His parents have established two Funds to carry on JB’s legacy, the JB Parke Memorial Scholarship Fund which will provide education awards to graduating Coginchaug High School seniors and the JB Parke Memorial Fund which will support programs and services that benefit our community, particularly those individuals and families battling cancer and children and teens participating in youth sports.
