CFMC Meaningful Monday Episode 56 – Chief Peter Tyc, Middlefield Volunteer Fire Company

Episode 56 – We are celebrating Community Connections. We are surrounded by remarkable people doing incredible things to support our community – in so many ways.

We know that there are so many incredible volunteers in our 15 town footprint – and some of the most incredible volunteers are those individuals who participate in our volunteer fire service. These special individuals answer the call to help no matter the time of day or the weather outside.

This week Chief Peter Tyc shares his experiences with the Middlefield Volunteer Fire Company, looking back at how he got involved, how the volunteer fire service has changed over time, and what it takes to be a volunteer fire department member in our community. Truly these are local heros. Yet they do so much more than just respond to calls for service. Peter and his team in Middlefield join in community events to introduce their company to neighbors of all ages, participate in community-wide celebrations, and connect with other local towns to support and promote volunteering with your local community. Chief Tyc also shares information about the ongoing training he and his team do as well as the need to ensure their department has the most up-to-date equipment possible, which led to the establishment of a designated Fund at CFMC for the department.
