Community Ambassadors At Work

Ascend Bank and its employees are well-known for their community involvement. As we like to say at the Community Foundation of Middlesex County, “They get it.” They know that everything that happens in our community – the successes, the hardships, the good, and the difficult – affect each and every one us in our daily lives.

One of the core tenets of Ascend Bank is to give back to the communities they serve. They have a long history of giving back – both financial and otherwise. Their employees’ gift of time, commitment and dedication to volunteering thousands of community service hours in support of local organizations and events are legendary – but oh so true.

Ascend Bank supported our local nonprofits by sponsoring half day workshops for area nonprofit organizations through CFMC’s Nonprofit Resource Center. These seminars allow the organizations to work with nationally recognized trainers on a wide variety of topics and to strengthen their professional skills of staff and board alike.

Ascend Bank chose to take their community involvement one step further in 2015. Recognizing that the Community Foundation’s core mission is to work with donors, provide grants to address issues and support communities, and meet future needs, they chose to honor their community work by establishing a Field of Interest Fund to support Old Saybrook and the surrounding area.

The Ascend Bank Middlesex Charitable Fund will support programs and services for nonprofit organizations working with low-to-moderate income individuals in Middlesex County.
