Whelen Family Fund

The Whelen family are great supporters of Middlesex County and those in need. They recognize that the Community Foundation is a leader in understanding their commitment to the nonprofit organizations working throughout the community and in providing support and resources for those organizations.

Sonny and his family chose to establish a fund in 2011 at the Community Foundation which could engage their entire family in giving back. They also want to encourage others in our region to give by offering challenge grants for various projects.

Partnering with the Community Foundation for their charitable giving provides all of the Whelen family access to the expertise and knowledge of CFMC’s staff and Board of Directors.

“The Community Foundation not only knows what we have supported in the past, but they understand where our hearts lie and the many interests we have. They provide a great resource for keeping us in touch with what is going on in the community. The opportunity to share this relationship with the next generation is very exciting for us.”
