Community Foundation of Middlesex County

Dear Friends, At the Community Foundation of Middlesex County, we view equity as our responsibility, and we are committed to helping all our friends and neighbors thrive and prosper.  Quite simply, we believe that, while we are all different, we all deserve respect, and we understand that a thriving community cannot exist where all are not welcomed or treated as equals. The circumstances leading to the recent deaths of Mr. George Floyd and too many other people of color underscore the amount of work that needs to – and must – be done

Whether you are rearranging your pantry during our “stay home stay safe” environment or making a quick stop at the grocery store, please consider picking up an extra item or two for your local food pantry. And also may a personal hygiene item, such as toothpaste or soap. Your neighbors will thank you. East Haddam Food…

If you would like to sew masks for Middlesex Health, please review the Guidelines and FAQ HERE – then package your masks in a seal-able plastic bag (i.e. Ziploc) and contact Community Relations at 860-358-6200 or info@midhosp.org…

Killingworth Community Fund Celebrates “Good People Doing Great Things”

There are so many things that make up a vibrant community, from arts and culture, education and the environment to health and social services, civic engagement, and economic opportunity. You, along with your neighbors, are the key ingredient – giving back where you live, work, and play, and making a very real and positive difference together. The Killingworth Community Fund (KCF), as a geographic affiliate of the Community Foundation of Middlesex County (CFMC), is able to make a deeper impact in the Killingworth community because your generous gifts are pooled with those of so many others throughout Middlesex County. Thanks…

Buddy Benches Abound

The Community Foundation’s Council of Business Partners Buddy Bench project, in partnership with Rushford, a Hartford Healthcare Partner, continues to grow and share benches throughout Middlesex County. The Council of Business Partners’ original idea of a buddy bench on every school playground has attracted lots of attention in Middlesex County, and people are coming to us with new ideas of places where benches would encourage our friends and neighbors to take a few moments to sit, relax, and enjoy conversation. Recently CFMC’s Council of Business Partners and Rushford placed three more benches – at the Giving Garden of Durham Middlefield,…
